Through the decades, eclectic fads, explosive dance crazes, artists, and bands have burst forth onto the music scene and into our psyche. British invasions, Swedish bands, Motown, Swing dance, and Disney are just some of the influences that have ignited today’s music genres. The Kids From Wisconsin‘s BIG BANG BOOM Tour will bring these sensations, and much more, to life in their high-powered two-hour Vegas-style production. Join our state’s most talented singers, dancers, and instrumentalists in celebrating the world’s most dynamic and impactful music styles and cultures.
Two singer/dancers are from our area:
Megan Shields/Port Edwards is thrilled to perform with KIDS for a sixth and final season! This fall, she’ll be a Junior at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, double majoring in Elementary Education and Dance. She began dancing at four years old, training in all styles at Rapids School of Performing Arts, where she also helped teach young dancers, showcased her choreography, and learned under the direction of a Radio City Rockette. As a college student, she’s been selected to perform in UWSP’s dance productions Afterimages 2020, Danstage 2021, Afterimages 2021, and Danstage 2022. She is also the Dance Program Student Office Assistant at UWSP. Megan is looking forward to performing again and hopes you enjoy the show.
Lou Xiong/Wisconsin Rapids just completed his senior year of high school at Lincoln High School. He plans on attending the University of Stevens Point in the fall to pursue his major in music. On top of playing the piano and guitar, Lou often participates in theatre, he has recently been seen in the roles of Scott Kunkle (Dear Edwina Jr., LHS) and Prince Christopher (Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella, LHS). He has also been in many vocal groups including LHS Acapella Choir, LHS Bass Clef Choir “The Gentle Men,” LHS Mixed Choir, and Northern Gateway Chorus: Stevens Point Barbershop Chapter of the Land O’ Lakes District. Lou is grateful for his opportunity with the KIDS organization and is beyond excited to start his first year as a Kid from Wisconsin in 2022. He hopes to inspire others to pursue their dreams and be who they really are by spreading love and laughter.
