About the Arts Council

Arts Council of South Wood County was organized in 1976 as a nonprofit corporation to provide a variety of professional performing art forms for residents of all ages. The Arts Council also provides Arts in Education programs which enrich the lives of area students through performances, workshops and master classes with professional artists. Through individual contributions and corporate sponsors, the Arts Council is able to provide high quality programming and culturally diverse presentations.

There are many ways you can become involved and support the Arts Council and our performing arts season:

  • Sell tickets and answer the telephone at the Arts Council office
  • Distribute posters
  • Host an information table on the night of a performance
  • Collect tickets at the door
  • Coordinate food and beverages for the performers
  • Assist with mailings and office management
  • Provide your program ideas
  • Promote the Arts in Education program to area youth
